The objectives of Late Start To Hockey are centered around the fundamentals of ice skating. It’s important for beginner players at any age to become comfortable on the ice, learn the basic hockey stance, stride, knee bend, use of edges and how to hold a stick before moving onto recreational hockey. Our Late Start program will prepare new players ages 10 and older to have the skating and puck handling skills to matriculate to full ice team hockey the following year. Below are the objectives for Late Start To Hockey:

A. Players will be able to stride forward using 45 degree V-Push, focus on good recovery and alternating arm drive

B. Players will be able to one-foot push and glide forward (right and left)

C. Players will be able to backward hustle or march, then glide on two feet

D. Players will be able to backward C-Cut, single leg (right and left) and alternating feet (right and left) in a straight line
