**USA Hockey Registration  is required to register for any tryout**

If you are unable to attend tryouts, you must contact Girls Hockey Director Annie Smyth-Hammond (a.smyth-hammond@sjha.com) and notify her of your inability to attend.  At the Director's discretion, you may be granted a secondary tryout. If granted, you will need to register for the tryout and pay in full.

At the completion of tryouts you will be notified as to your status on the Seattle Red Hawk teams.  Should you be offered a spot, please be prepared to accept your position by way of a deposit in the amount of $350.00.  Checks can be made out to Seattle Junior Hockey Association.  Once this initial deposit is made a link will be sent out to create your payment plan for all remaining payments.

About Rep Team Hockey

Travel Teams (Committed players wanting to take it to the next level):  Players on our U13, U15, and U18 travel teams require a high level of commitment.  All travel teams have mandatory practice and travel expectations set by coaches and outlined during tryout weekends.  Off season training and off ice training will be expected from all travel players.

The full time girls' teams are huge piece in making SJHA the most complete hockey association in the state of Washington.  We will host girls beginners and teams at 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 19U Divisions.

With a full-service program, Seattle Junior and WWFHA now offer a place for players 6U to 19U to play at any level of competition.  Our ability to provide all levels of hockey ensures the capability of properly placing players at appropriate levels which will strengthen our teams from top to bottom.

About the Girls' Program

Seattle Junior Hockey Association is pleased to announce the  Girls' program for the 2023-2024 season in partnership with WWFHA.

Recreation Teams:  Players in girls' beginners or in 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U Girls' Rec teams do not have tryouts and signups are first come first served.  Teams will play locally against other girls and coed teams.

Local Competition Focused:  Seattle Junior is committed to playing teams locally with fewer cross country trips.  Now that the Canadian border is open and closer leagues have formed we want to save our families time and cost on travel and provide competitive games and opportunities.

Increased ice time:  Starting 2023-2024 season our girls travel teams will be on the ice three times a week for practice for 1.25 hour slots.  This will bring better balance between development and game time.  We expect the investment of ice time into our players to pay off long term with their hockey IQ and Skill Development.

Travel Teams (Committed players wanting to take it to the next level):  Players on our 12U, 14U, 16U, & 19U travel teams require a high level of commitment.  All travel teams have mandatory practice and travel expectations set by coaches and outlined during tryout weekends.  Off season training and off ice training will be expected from all travel players.
