Try Hockey for Free events provide opportunities to experience playing hockey for the first time. Open to all kids aged 4-9, Try Hockey for Free events happen four times a year (fall, winter, spring, and summer). Coaches will be on the ice to assist your child. We provide helmets, skates, and sticks! No experience necessary!

Players learn the fundamentals needed to play hockey through fun and engaging station-based practices that build and grow a passion for the sport. Two 10 week courses (Hockey 1 & Hockey 2) required. Our Late Start to Hockey program is offered each session for new players 10+.

8U Mite & Mitey Mite is a recreational level of play with intra-association games, and some tournaments throughout the season. Players receive equal ice time regardless of experience level, skill, or talent. Mitey Mites (2x per week) are recent Beginner Hockey graduates. Mites (3x per week) are Mitey Mite graduates. Season runs from September-March.

10U+ Rec Hockey is recreational play with two practices per week and one game per weekend. With intra-association games, local league play, and some local tournaments throughout the season, the Rec program makes it easy to fit hockey into a family schedule. Players receive equal ice time regardless of experience level, skill, or talent. The emphasis is FUN and SAFETY. SJHA works hard to keep the cost of Rec hockey as low as possible so everyone can play hockey.

Rep (Representative) Hockey is the highest caliber of hockey available at Seattle Junior. Rep teams typically roster 13-17 players representing the more skilled and dedicated players in their age group. Rep is more expensive due to the nature of travel, 3 practices each week, and at least 2 weekend games. Rep includes 100+ hours of hockey (in a normal season, September-March). Players are evaluated for Rep teams in a tryout process in the spring.

The Seattle Red Hawks program is a partnership between the Seattle Junior Hockey Association and the Western Washington Female Hockey Association that is dedicated to providing as many excellent and skill-specific development experiences for local girls. Red Hawks Rep teams play in the Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association Female League in Lower Mainland, BC. The Red Hawks have 3 practices each week, and at least 2 weekend games. Girls Rep includes 100+ hours of hockey (in a normal season, September-March). Players are evaluated for Rep teams in a tryout process in the spring.
