On this page you will find information regarding registration for the upcoming season.  Please be sure to read the entire page prior to registration and if you have any questions prior to registering please reach out to our registrar Lisa Menzl at admin@sjha.com

All parties registering do so knowing that schedules, start dates and season completion dates are subject to change should we experience events and/or regulations beyond the control of Seattle Junior Hockey Association.  Please refer to the refund section below to better understand the process should such an event or regulation occur.  

Once in the registration portal,  you will pick the division that relates to your birth year to register.  This registration covers the base cost of that division.  If you only intend on playing Rec (house) this will be the only registration you will need to complete for the season.  If you are trying out for one of our select teams, you will be notified of your status on that team following tryouts.  If you make one of the select teams you will be issued a link to a separate registration to cover the additional costs incurred for playing select hockey (Select hockey does not apply to 8U Mite or Mitey Mite).  Please note that if you wish to tryout for one of our select teams, a separate registration is required to participate in that tryout and can be found in the tryout section under the "Programs" tab.

Registering for a tryout does not secure your spot within Seattle Junior Hockey Association.  

ALL SEASON REGISTRATIONS BEGIN WITH A NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT

IN ORDER TO COMPLETE REGISTRATION, YOU WILL NEED TO REGISTER WITH USA HOCKEY FOR THE 2023-2024 SEASON

Tryout Registration Fees: Non-Refundable

Registration Deposit: Non-Refundable (should the season not be able to be played at all, the registration deposit will be refunded less any outgoing costs such as jerseys, socks or any previously used ice.)

Players who choose to leave the Association at any time prior to the completion of the season after they have registered with SJHA or committed to the 2020-2021 season by way of initial payment are required to pay all funds in full before they will receive an unconditional release to play for the next association.

Refundable Situations:  Most refund scenarios will come in the form of a credit for the following season.  Upon the 1st day of each month a player is obligated to fulfill any payment associated with that month or the applicable portion of that payment period. 

Any player who would age out of the Association and unable to use a credit will be refunded directly

• Season Ending Injury:  A doctors letter prohibiting that player from competing for the remainder of the hockey season will be required and that player will be eligible for a refund in the form of a credit for the following season less the tryout fee, initial deposit and any payment leading up to the point of injury and any fees associated with the month the player is currently competing in. 

• Should a player request a release upon claim of season ending injury said release will not be issued prior to midnight of December 31st of the current season without full payment of all season fees and will no longer be eligible for a refund of any amount.

• Short term injuries in which a player is eligible to play during the same season are not eligible for refunds

• Player Moving from Washington State: Should a player require to move out of State in the middle of the season they will be eligible for a refund less the Tryout Fee, Initial Deposit, any Payment leading up to the point of moving out of State and any fees associated with the month the player is currently competing in. 

• Any returned funds under this scenario will occur after December 31st of the current season

• Act of God: (ie. Covid 19 Pandemic) Families will be eligible for a refund in the form of a credit for the following season less the Tryout Fee, Initial Deposit, any Payment leading up to the point of the season in which we are affected by this act and any fees associated with the month the player is currently competing in as well as any outstanding fees the association may have in which we are not eligible for refund on behalf of an individual player or team

• In the event of a mid season shut down or late start occur, the refund will come in the form of reduction of your final payment on February 1st.  Should the amount due back exceed the amount of your final payment then the remaining amount due will be issued as a credit for the following season.

Within the registration you can opt in to a payment plan if you choose.  This payment plan will consist of your initial deposit followed by three equal payments to complete the transaction.  All registrants will need to register no later than September 1st.  Following your initial registration automatic withdrawals will occur on 1st of each month through February 2023. 

When you choose to pay the season on a card SportsEngine charges a service charge of roughly 3.5%.  This percentage of the entire dollar amount will be added to the initial registration deposit.  

If you choose to avoid these fees you can do so by paying by check or cash.  If you choose to pay by cash or check the entire amount must be paid in full prior to registration.  Once SJHA has received that payment in full you will be issued a code to login and complete your registration.
