Two New Teams Coming to SJHA Next Year!

Girls Hockey Program Update

Seattle Junior Hockey is pleased to announce the addition of two new full-time girls teams for the 2023-2024 season at the 8U and 10U level.  The association currently has a large number of younger girls and with the expansion of girl’s hockey in the metro hockey league the future has never looked brighter.  PNAHA female representative, Jim O’Brien, recently commented “Next year we could see full time girls divisions in a league that could include multiple teams from Seattle Junior, Junior Kraken, Snoking, Tacoma, and WWFHA.  Years ago, when I sat down with Jon Sloan and Ian Armstrong to talk about the future, this was the first goal we had hoped would come to fruition.  We are finally here!”

Former SJHA Director, Nick Fouts, has agreed to help coach the new 8U team and is excited about the possibility and the future for the girls.  Current Hockey Director, Marty Rubin, stated “I am so excited for the girls program next year.  We will have a full-time girls team at all age levels 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 19U.  We are focused on enriching our offering and providing a better development model for our players.  This addition to the program helps make the girls opportunities more complete for our families.”
