Seattle Junior Hockey Association is excited to name Marty Rubin as the coach of the 14U A2 team for the 2020-2021
Marty is new to SJHA but has an extensive hockey background both as a player and coach. Marty is originally from St Louis, MO and played elite prep hockey at The Gunnery as well as collegiately at Wesleyan University (NCAA DIII) graduating in 2018. Marty also played junior hockey in Stamford CT in the USPHL and has international experience playing for Team USA in the 2013 Maccabiah games in Israel. Marty has 8 years coaching experience leading hockey skills camps in St. Louis. Earlier this year, he coached his pewee team to a Connecticut state championship. He is excited to be joining SJHA and will bring a heavy emphasis on hockey fundamentals and skill development.
“Marty’s teaching background both on and off the ice and his passion for skill development make him an ideal person for this position. I had the fortune of working with Marty at the Central District camp years ago and saw his abilities as a player and am now very excited for him to share both his skills and passion for coaching with not only the players of the 14U A2 team but the entire association”. Athletic Director Nick Fouts
Marty will be relied on not only for coaching our 14U A2 team, but also provide assistance throughout our organization both with working with individual teams as well as being available for private lessons.
